(1) City of Water Day

City of Water Day is a free, family-oriented, celebration of the world-class potential of the Hoboken waterfront and surrounding waterfront communities, and is the Gateway Region’s biggest harbor festival. Highlights of City of Water Day activities include free boat tours on all kinds of vessels, the Con Edison Cardboard Kayak Race, free rowing, kayaking, and paddle-boarding, and the Waterfront Activity Fair featuring children’s activities, science experiments, games, live music, delicious food, giveaways, and more.

(2) Visit a County Farm Fair!

One of the top things to do in New Jersey in the summertime is to celebrate the Garden State at your local Farm Fair. We’ve got more county fairs happening around New Jersey this week – including my home county fair in Burlington County! I can’t wait to go!!! Adorable farm animals, delicious food, thrilling rides, fun competitions, fantastic music, and more… there’s something for everyone at your local fair! Here’s where the fairs are this week…

The New Jersey State Crab Festival takes place in front of the Ice House Restaurant and features a block party atmosphere with “crabby” fun for all ages! Festival includes bushels of blue claw crabs, a beer garden, crabby bloody marys, vendors and fun things to do for the kids including a crab race at 6pm. Live outdoor entertainment throughout the day, as well as a special performance by Parrotbeach (a Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band) at 7pm. Free admission.

(4) 22nd Annual Haskell Classic Car Show

July 19th, 2015

With the participation of Triple Crown winner American Pharaoh, New Jersey’s biggest thoroughbred race – the Haskell Invitational – is even bigger this year and the folks at Monmouth Park Racetrack are getting an early start on the festivities with the Haskell Classic Car Show this Sunday. Now in its 22nd year, the Haskell Classic Car Show will feature over 150 cars from the 1930’s, 40’s, 50’s and more! Big Joe Henry will be broadcasting his NJ 101.5 Favorite Hits Radio Show live. Sunday is also Family Fun Day at Monmouth Park which means that the day will be full of fun FREE activities such as pony rides, face painting, inflatable amusements, and live music. Grandstand admission is $3, children 12 and under are always admitted free.

(5) Barrel Trail Weekend

July 18th & 19th, 2015

Barrel Trail Weekend is an exclusive peek at New Jersey wines! New Jersey winery tasting rooms will give patrons a two-day glimpse behind the scenes of local grape growing and wine production in the Garden State! During Barrel Trail Weekend, visitors to New Jersey wineries will enjoy vineyard and winery tours, tastings of wines still developing in the barrel, new wine releases, discounts on purchases, food pairings, live music, and much more!
