Top New Jersey Events This Week Include Firemen’s Fair, Tomato Tasting, Jazz Festival, & More!
There’s a great variety of fun things to do in New Jersey this week! From an awesome music festival at the Jersey shore, to New Jersey wine and beer events, to the biggest firemen’s festival in the state and more, there’s something fun to do for everyone in New Jersey this week! 1. Brews by the Bay

Brews By The Bay is two fabulous beer festivals in two states combined into one colossal beer event. The festival is a celebration of New Jersey and Delaware brewing with more than 20 of your favorite local breweries! Brews By The Bay will feature live music, local foods, craft brews, yard games, and more. The New Jersey festival will take place at the Cape May Ferry Terminal from 12pm to 4pm. The Delaware festival will take place at the Lewes Ferry Terminal from 4pm – 8pm. Tickets will be sold for each individual side or as a combo ticket (which includes a round trip ferry ticket) for both states. Advance ticket prices are $45 for individual state festival, $70 for combination ticket, $18.50 for designated driver round trip ferry ticket, $5 for designate driver (no ferry ticket). Day of event ticket prices are an additional $5 except for designated driver ticket.
2. The Great Tomato Tasting
August 26th, 2015
3:00pm – 7:30pm
Admission: $7 – Adults, free for children under 10.
Rutgers Snyder Research & Extension Farm

Taste over 80 varieties of the quintessential New Jersey vegetable (or is it a fruit) – the Jersey Tomato – at the Annual Snyder Farm Open House and Great Tomato Tasting! You’ll also have the opportunity to sample apples and peaches from the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station Tree Fruit Breeding Program, along with varieties of Jersey Fresh basil and honey. Stroll the demonstration gardens to view deer tolerant ornamentals, examples of proper tomato plant culture, a wall of fruit highlighting apple trees for the home landscape, and blueberries, hollies, and hazelnuts from the Rutgers breeding programs. Visitors will have the chance to take a wagon tour of the farm’s research plots. The Great Tomato Tasting will also feature chef demonstrations, salsa tastings, a turf labyrinth, educational displays, and Rutgers Master Gardener volunteers as well as Rutgers NJAES faculty and staff will be on hand to answer gardening questions. Registration is requested for planning purposes (visit the Snyder Research and Extension Farm online).
3. Long Branch Jazz & Blues Festival
August 29th, 2015

The Long Branch Jazz & Blues Festival is a free, family-friendly festival by the beach that is part of The 2015 Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Festivals series. Thousands of visitors are expected to turn out for a day of fantastic live performances by talented jazz and blues musicians, delicious food and beverages, shopping with local crafters, and fun things to do at the kids’ activities area. The festival will close with a spectacular fireworks display.
4. 2015 Fair Haven Firemen’s Fair
August 28th – September 5th, 2015

The annual Fair Haven Fire Company Firemen’s Fair is the largest firemen’s fair in New Jersey and is an exciting family activity that attracts visitors of all ages from throughout the state. The fair features amusement rides, delicious food, rides on a real fire truck, games, and more family-friendly fun!
5. Grape Stomping Festival at Renault Winery
August 30th, 2015
12:00pm – 4:00pm

Renault Winery celebrates the annual grape harvest with a fabulous Grape Stomping Festival. The annual event features live entertainment, activities for the kids, shopping with local crafters, delicious food, New Jersey wine and beer, and – of course – grape stomping!
