One awesome way to sample the fine beers that these local businesses offer is to attend one of the many New Jersey beer festivals happening around the state this spring. Many of these NJ beer festivals also feature fantastic food from local food trucks and restaurants, awesome live music, shopping opportunities, and even fun activities for kids. TRUCKerton Food Truck & Brew Fest – Cinco de Mayo

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at the Truckerton Food Truck and Brew Fiesta! The annual food truck festival at Tuckerton returns for the 5th consecutive year with a Cinco de Mayo twist. Attendees can expect food and fun from over a dozen food trucks featuring the best from North and South Jersey, as well as 12 craft brews and live music; additionally, this year’s event will feature a Taco Eating Contest! Gourmet food trucks will offer their traditional menus alongside additional menu items created especially for this event. Live music will include Diablo Sandwich on Saturday. Enjoy tastings from 16+ microbreweries and regional wineries, as well as gourmet food by Not Your Ma’Ma’s Tacos and Mary’s Mobile Diner! Artist-made beer steins will be featured for sale, and a silent auction will feature a variety of prizes ranging from tickets to fine arts & crafts. Don’t miss the VIP tasting with Candace Ryan, Wine Educator and Sommelier. She will be hosting a Wine vs. Beer tasting featuring wine from local vineyards, beer from Tonewood Brewing and hors de’oeuvres from Roots catering! The evening features live music by the Brian LaPann Trio.  Brian is a Philadelphia-based songwriter, guitarist and vocalist. Soulful and articulate, his music is both honest and introspective.  Brian’s influences range from Eric Clapton to Trey Anastasio, Derek Trucks, Ray Lamontagne, Prince and Bob Marley and infuse his blues and roots rock sound.

NJ Beer BBQ Bacon Showdown

The Beer BBQ Bacon Showdown is New Jersey’s first festival featuring only New Jersey beer, coupled with restaurants, gourmet food trucks & chefs, offering a delectable array of mouth watering BBQ & bacon creations, all available for purchase. There will be a competition to showcase their culinary skills, with a panel of celebrity judges choosing the best of the best, along with People’s Choice awards for Best Dish & Best Beer. Thirty New Jersey breweries will be in attendance, each showcasing four styles of beer. One of these styles will be either a rare beer or a brew created specifically for the Showdown. The event will also feature great music by Street Hassle and shopping with local vendors.

Hunterdon Brewing Company will supply a variety of beers and wine at several tasting tables and guests will be able to sample food from Metropolitan Seafood Co. and other top local eateries including BEX eatery + catering co., Cryan’s Tavern, Frank’s Italian Restaurant, Just Chill Frozen Desserts & Creperie, and Scout’s Coffee Bar  + Mercantile. Live music on the terrace with the New Road Band and the opportunity to check out HAM’s latest exhibitions. Proceeds from this fundraiser will support the Museum’s education programs and exhibitions of contemporary art, craft and design.
