Explore 30 historic locations in Somerset County NJ for free this weekend! The Somerset County Weekend Journey Through the Past will feature children’s activities at every site, interpretive tours led by costumed docents, actors portraying historical figures, special exhibitions, military drills and encampments, traditional blacksmithing demonstrations, a display of 19th century firefighting wagons and apparatus, sights and sounds of 18th century living and daily chores by re-enactors, live period music and theatrical performances, antiques sales, local history videos, gravestone rubbing demonstrations, and more. Visitors will have access to some sites not generally open to the public.
