Fronted by the angelic-voiced Amy Lee, Evanescence first struck gold — and platinum — with their 2003 debut, “Fallen”, spawning the huge hits “Bring Me to Life” and “My Immortal,” not to mention scoring them two Grammys. They’ve been dubbed “goth metal” by “The New York Times” and “Rolling Stone”, but their 2017 release, “Synthesis”, takes them into definite prog-rock territory, with new songs, as well as fan favorites re-imagined with a symphony orchestra and electronica. Opener Lindsey Stirling (“Shatter Me”) joins the genre-bending fun with her hugely popular, YouTube record-smashing mashup of violin, electronica and dance. A full orchestra will also be on hand at PNC Bank Arts Center to bring to life a “sensory experience like no other,” during this concert under the stars in Holmdel.
