Nestled deep in the interior of the New Jersey Pinelands, Batsto Lake offers the canoeist the opportunity to experience a small sample of the wetlands typical to this area. Explore this beautiful New Jersey gem on a Batsto Lake Naturalist Guided Canoe Ecotour! Wharton State Forest Naturalists will lead you by canoe and point out the natural features native to this region of the Pinelands. Atlantic white cedar, blueberries, cranberries, and carnivorous plants line the lake’s shores. You may see or hear carpenter frogs, redbelly turtles, great blue herons, and bald eagles during your paddling trip!

$10.00 per person – all equipment is provided. Life jackets MUST be worn by all participants. Age requirements – 8 years or older. Children 8-13 must be passengers in the middle of the provided canoe and must be accompanied by two aduts. No more than 2 children as passengers per canoe. Children 14 and up may paddle when accompanied by at least one adult. Participants must have prior canoeing experience.
