Observatory Open House at the Edelman Planetarium

Observe the evening sky through telescopes during an Observatory Open House at the Edelman Planetarium. Astronomy faculty and club members are on-hand to operate the telescopes and guide visitors as they view objects in the night sky.

Observatory Open Houses  begin in the planetarium with a brief virtual preview of the night sky. Visitors are then escorted to the 4th floor observatory, where they will participate in observations of the night sky. Attendees observe through the 16″ research telescope in the observing dome and through smaller telescopes on the observing deck, so be sure to dress for the weather! Weather calls are posted by 2:00 pm. Open Houses are free and open to everyone!
