Be sure to be a responsible dog owner when you’re out and about in New Jersey with your dog! Obey leash laws, clean up after your pet, monitor your dog at all times, and be sure that your pet is properly vaccinated. Observe common sense rules of conduct – don’t bring dogs that are not well-socialized, dogs that are ill, female dogs in heat, or young puppies to dog parks or other settings where this may pose a risk to your dog or other canine or human visitors.

The view from High Point Monument, at 1,803 feet above sea level, is a breathtaking panorama of rich farmland and forest, soft hills, and lush valleys in three states. Union County’s Echo Lake Dog Park is a 3-acre off leash doggie play area with separate sections for large and small dogs. It is located within Echo Lake County Park, where leashed dogs are welcome to enjoy the facilities with their humans. Echo Lake County Park features a large lake, a fitness trail, pedal boats, a picnic area (reservable), a playground, restrooms, and a snack bar.

Leashed dogs are welcome at Watchung Reservation.

White Lake Natural Resource Area lies in the Great Limestone Valley in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The 394 acre preserve features a pristine 69 acre spring-fed lake and a variety of interesting wildlife habitats including karst limestone exposures, fertile meadows, sinkhole ponds, and stands of mature hemlock and hardwood forests. The preserve is also home to several cultural and historical points of interest, including the stone wall remnants of an ice house/marl processing facility and a lime kiln. Several miles of hiking trails pass through White Lake preserve, making it a great destination for dogs and their people.
