The Borough of Closter will mark Memorial Day 2017 with a Memorial Day service at Veterans Monument Park (Herbert Avenue & Closter Dock Rd.) conducted by American Legion Post 111, a Fire Department Memorial Day service at Knickerbocker Hook and Ladder Company (100 Ruckman Road), and the annual Memorial Day parade. The 2017 Memorial Day parade will march east on High Street to Closter Dock Road, past the Borough Hall and Veteran’s Park, west onto Harrington Ave. and conclude at Veterans’ Memorial Park for the Memorial Day ceremony.

The annual Englewood Memorial Day Parade will begin at 10:00am and will march down Palisades Avenue.
Fair Lawn Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony

The parade will march from Pollitt Drive to Fair Lawn Avenue, River Road, Berdan Avenue and down the Avenue of Heroes to Memorial Park, concluding with a memorial ceremony.

The Bergen County Historical Society will honor veterans of all wars with a wreath-laying at the grave of General Enoch Poor in the burial ground of the First Dutch Reformed Church on the Green. Excerpts from Chaplain Israel Evans’ graveside funeral oration will be read at the ceremony, followed by a tour of the historic cemetery.

The 2017 Hasbrouck Heights Memorial Day Parade will begin at 10am at Williams and will travel south on Terrace. The veterans service will be held at Veterans Monument at Terrace and Passaic at 11am. A Fire Department service follows at the Circle.

Memorial Day services will be held at Veterans’ Monument Park in Montvale, Park Ridge Veterans’ Monument Park, and Woodcliff Lake Veterans’ Monument at VFW Post 8946, beginning at 9am. The services will be followed by the Memorial Day parade beginning at the Montvale Firehouse at 10:30am and marching to Woodcliff Lake.

The annual Oakland Memorial Day Parade takes place on Sunday (5/28/17). The parade begins at Grove Street and Ramapo Valley Road and will close with a ceremony in Veterans’ Park. Complimentary food and refreshments will be served at the American Legion Post at 65 Oak Street immediately following the parade. Sponsored by the American Legion and the Borough of Oakland.
Old Tappan Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony

The 2017 Memorial Day Parade will begin from Northern Valley Old Tappan High School (150 Central Ave.) through town, ending at Oakes Park with a Memorial Ceremony. In the event of rain, the Fire Department siren will be sounded at 8:15am advising that the ceremony will be held at Charles DeWolf School.

The Tenafly Memorial Day parade begins at George Street and concludes with a ceremony at Huyler Park across from historic Tenafly Railroad Station.

Memorial Day Parade begins on Ripplewood Drive and concludes in front of Borough Hall (376 W. Saddle River Road) with a tribute to the armed forces.
Wyckoff 2017 Memorial Day Parade and Services

The Firefighters Memorial Service will be held at Firehouse No. 1, directly behind Town Hall at 9am. The Veteran’s Memorial Service will be held at 10 am on the lawn of the Wyckoff Reformed Church on Wyckoff Avenue (site of the Township War Memorial). The Wyckoff Memorial Day parade begins on Wyckoff Avenue at Cornerstone Christian Church, continues down Wyckoff Avenue turning right on Main Street, then turns right on Franklin Avenue. The parade ends behind Town Hall at the Ambulance Corps building.
