New Jerseyans have long been known for their willingness to take it to the mat over the whole “Taylor Ham vs. Pork Roll” thing, but this weekend one pork roll fight took it to a new extreme when an argument over the Garden State delicacy ended in arrest for one man, Hackettstown police said.
According to the Hackettstown Police Department, officers were called to an apartment on the 100 block of Main Street for a report of people fighting over stolen Taylor Ham at approximately 2:45am on September 30th. Upon arrival, an officer observed red abrasions and swelling on the left side of the victim’s face. Officers determined that the pork roll fight – which may have originally started over beer – resulted in 19-year-old Christian Guerra punching the victim multiple times.
Guerra was arrested and charged with simple assault. He was lodged in the Warren County Correctional Facility. No details on whether the stolen pork roll was recovered by police.
